It's hard to believe it is already June! Although the weather outside sure doesn't feel it! We have been busy in our Friendly Fish classroom!
We have been hard at work practicing our sitting and working at the tables. It is hard to do sometimes but we keep getting better at it! We have done a lot of work in our small groups, as I am sure you have seen most of the work that has come home! We have done various activities using different art supplies!
We are practicing holding markers and crayons in our hands the correct way. We have also used the bingo dots to make beautiful artwork as well as hold the correct way. We have used the circle stickers to practice our fine motor skills of pulling the stickers off and placing them on our papers. They can be tricking!
Play-dough was a big hit last week! All the kids loved rolling it into balls and making different things with the play-dough. We also painted a number of times. We used water colors, and we also painted with celery and potatoes! That was fun to do.
We listened and watched Pete the Cat and his Four Groovy Buttons on the iPad. It is a big hit in our Friendly Fish room! We also watched The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. I have included links to both stories online so you can enjoy at home!

We were very busy in our small group activities this week in our Friendly Fish classroom, as I am sure you have seen all the projects that have come home! We made ABC books, we used the stamp pads to stamp numbers; we painted with water colors (which was so much fun!) and we explored shapes and made matches. We worked hard on holding markers and crayons in our hands to do various projects and coloring. I encourage you at home if you can take time to practice holding and coloring with crayons and markers!
We played with Play-Dough this week and we practiced rolling the dough into balls. We also played in the sandbox which was a big hit!
We loved reading and listening Pete the Cat again this week. Its been fun to sing the Wheels on the Bus that is Pete the Cat's version which is a little different. However, the kids are doing a great job knowing all of the different versions of the song!
During our centers time we played with dollhouses. It was fun to watch the kids explore with the different toys that go along with the dollhouses. We also played with the blocks. We built tall towers and practiced waiting to knock them over.
Just as a reminder we will not have school this Monday, May 25th in observance of Memorial Day. Enjoy your weekend!!
